 The Trout Slayer. Does It Really Slay? The question at hand is does the Trout Slayer truly slay.... yea or nay? The Trout Slayer is made by Leland lures and I love Leland lures products. Not to long ago I did a review on there Panfish Magnet kit if you want to check that out.  The Trout Slayer is a small crawfish soft bait that is used to target multiple species of fish from bluegills to even bass and crazy enough trout.... Ive caught a lot of bluegill off this bait and warmouth but Ive yet to catch a bass and since I live in Florida trout is hard to come by lol  Trout Slayer Lets talk price. For a whole $9 and 99cents you can own the Trout Slayer. It comes with 5 different colored crawfish soft baits (watermelon red, white, black neon, natural, and huckleberry) you get 20 in total and then you get 8 1/64 ounce size 6 hooks. My Ultra Light Set Up For Panfishing

I love panfishing. Not only is it really fun but its simple and I like simple. I don't think you need to spend hundreds of dollars on a rod and reel unless you want to. BUT its not necessary. So my ultra light fishing set up consist of a Shakespeare micro series rod that I purchased from Walmart for about $23ish dollars including the two year warranty (always get the warranty its only a couple dollars).  Its a 2 piece 7' rod and I like it a lot it hasn't failed me yet lol.

The reel that i'm using is a Kast King Brutus 2000 spinning reel which I really like it cast great and I got it on amazon on sale for $17 but i think there usually around $23 which isn't bad for the great quality.

The line i'm currently using it the SOS 4lb from Lelands lures love this line its mono and really strong. Ive seen people catch huge fish off this line its crazy. I bought it off amazon its like $5ish.

So there you have it thats my panfish rod and reel combo that I use. All together were looking at about $45-$50ish for the rod reel and line. So if your looking for an affordable set up I highly suggest it. Happy Fishing!
