The Trout Slayer. Does It Really Slay?
The Trout Slayer. Does It Really Slay?
The question at hand is does the Trout Slayer truly slay.... yea or nay?
The Trout Slayer is made by Leland lures and I love Leland lures products. Not to long ago I did a review on there Panfish Magnet kit if you want to check that out.
The Trout Slayer is a small crawfish soft bait that is used to target multiple species of fish from bluegills to even bass and crazy enough trout.... Ive caught a lot of bluegill off this bait and warmouth but Ive yet to catch a bass and since I live in Florida trout is hard to come by lol

Lets talk price. For a whole $9 and 99cents you can own the Trout Slayer. It comes with 5 different colored crawfish soft baits (watermelon red, white, black neon, natural, and huckleberry) you get 20 in total and then you get 8 1/64 ounce size 6 hooks. Thats decent for the price in my opinion.

You maybe wondering.... Okay sounds good but how do I fish this thing? Well i'm so glad I assumed you asked. The way you fish this is on an ultralight rod using 2-4lb test. My favorite it the Leland lures SOS monofilament but use whatever brand you like. Now on top of the box it tells you how to rig this up. Put the hook through the tail end and bring it out in the center of the head between the eyes. You can fish this along the bottom or under a float. I like to use the E-Z Trout floats and just slowly retrieve with a little twitch here and there but remember it usually the fall of the bait that gets the fish all railed up so let it fall all the way before you reel it in again.

So the question does it actually slay? Im going to say your danged right it does! I really enjoy using this kit fishing small ponds with a bunch of bluegills they love the craw!
