Panfish Magnet.... A Closer Look

Image
Panfish Magnet.... A Closer Look Lets take a closer look at the panfish magnet. Its created by Leland Lures who also makes the trout magnet and the crappie magnet. The label says it all really... this is a panfish magnet meaning you can catch all types of panfish with this set because panfish are attracted to the grub like body and the variety of colors available in this kit.  Panfish Magnet You get 12 1/64oz size 8 hooks and 7 different color split-tail grub bodies. Panfish Magnet Split-Tail Grubs The colors you get are 10 bison, 10 bulldog, 10 bumble bee, 10 black/green, 10 mealworm, 10 purple haze, and 10 brown. Your going to want to use a ultra light rod with 2-4 lb test when using this kit that way you can cast better. I also like to use the EZ trout floats when using the panfish magnet. Make sure to adjust the float accordingly. E-Z Trout Floats Ive caught a lot of bluegills and warmouth using the panfish magnet. If you read some of my older posts you see that I state when I ...

My Ultra Light Set Up For Panfishing

Image
My Ultra Light Set Up For Panfishing I love panfishing. Not only is it really fun but its simple and I like simple. I don't think you need to spend hundreds of dollars on a rod and reel unless you want to. BUT its not necessary. So my ultra light fishing set up consist of a Shakespeare micro series rod that I purchased from Walmart for about $23ish dollars including the two year warranty (always get the warranty its only a couple dollars).  Its a 2 piece 7' rod and I like it a lot it hasn't failed me yet lol. Shakespeare Micro Series Shakespeare Micro Series The reel that i'm using is a Kast King Brutus 2000 spinning reel which I really like it cast great and I got it on amazon on sale for $17 but i think there usually around $23 which isn't bad for the great quality. Kast King Brutus 2000 Spinning Reel The line i'm currently using it the SOS 4lb from Lelands lures love this line its mono and really strong. Ive seen people catch huge fish off this line its crazy...

Catching Some Tilapias

Image
Catching Some Tilapias  At first I didn't know what I caught but after a google image search I was able to identify the fish as a tilapia. Actually a nile tilapia based on the markings. I caught them out of this tiny pond so it surprised me that they were even in there but they are invasive in Florida. That doesn't surprise me lol. Nile Tilapia Nile Tilapia Nile Tilapia The bait I used to catch these tilapia were red worms and a small bobber on an ultra light rod. Check out my latest post HERE
